Removing Bumper stickers from your vehicle can get quite hard. Be it for whatever reason you had stuck those stickers; it gets tough and challenging for you to scrape it off. The following are some of the techniques you can use to remove those stickers off your car bumper.
- Applying boiling water.
- Natural Agents.
- WD-40 or lighter fluid.
- Blow Dries.
- Goo Gone.
Applying boiling water:
Most stickers should peel off with boiling water. First, boil some water and then soak a cloth or a rug in the water and then rub it over the sticker on the bumper of the car. Soak the decal in water for some time and then again try to scrub off the label. Repeat the process for some more time, and if you cannot remove the sticker, then you can move on to the other things mentioned below.
Take an empty spray bottle and mix it with water, rubbing alcohol and eucalyptus oil in the ratio 3.2.1. You can also use dish wash or alcohol solution instead of using eucalyptus oil. Mix these solutions well and spray it over the sticker and soak the label with this solution for a couple of minutes. The label should peel off much easier than it did with boiling water. If the sticker does not come off that easy, then you can add more of this solution and soak the label for a longer time and scrub the sticker.
Even after washing multiple times, if the sticker still does not come off your bumper then you can spray some vinegar on the label and try rubbing the sticker off again. The vinegar is best for removing the sticky substance off your bumper.
WD-40 or a lighter fluid:
If the above two methods do not work, then take a piece of cloth and dip it in WD-40 or a liquid with a lighter concentration and start to peel off the sticker on the car bumper with your hands or with a soft cloth or rug. Do not use a sharp object or a rough material to scrape off the sticker. It can cause starches and scrape off the paint along with your sticker. After removing the label, take a soft cloth and dip it in alcohol and wipe the surface clean for removing the sticking substance.
Heating the surface is another method of removing the sticker. Keep the blow drier for a few minutes but make sure that you maintain some distance from the car bumper. You do not want to scrape off the car paint along with the sticker. As you heat the surface of the bumper, try and scrape off the sticker with your hands simultaneously. You can also use a rubber spatula or a plastic knife or something to remove the label if the surface is too hot. Once you are done with removing the sticker, wipe the area with alcohol after it cools down.
